Terms & Conditions

The agreement between you and Directory.com.au Pty Ltd for using Accountants.Contact.

Last updated: 19 August 2026

These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") govern your access to and use of Accountants.Contact, the cloud accounting platform at accountants.contact (the "Service"), operated by Directory.com.au Pty Ltd (ABN 68 090 816 461) ("we", "us", "our"). By creating an account or using the Service you agree to these Terms.

1. The Service

Accountants.Contact provides online double-entry accounting tools including invoicing, bills, bank reconciliation, GST/BAS reporting, payroll, inventory, fixed assets and financial reporting. We may add, change or remove features over time. Features marked "under development" or "beta" are provided as previews, may be incomplete, and may change or be withdrawn.

2. Accounts & eligibility

You must provide accurate registration details and are responsible for all activity under your account and for keeping your credentials secure. You must be at least 18 and authorised to act for the business you register. Notify us promptly of any unauthorised use.

3. Subscription, billing & cancellation

  • Paid plans are billed in advance on a recurring monthly basis at the price shown at sign-up (currently A$39/month), in Australian dollars.
  • Payments are processed securely by Stripe; by subscribing you also agree to Stripe's terms. We do not store your full card details.
  • Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled. You may cancel at any time; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.
  • Except where required by Australian Consumer Law, fees already paid are non-refundable.
  • We may change pricing on reasonable notice; changes apply from your next billing period.

4. Your data

You retain ownership of the data you enter. You grant us the rights needed to host and process it to provide the Service. You can export your data at any time. Our handling of personal information is described in our Privacy Policy. You are responsible for the accuracy of the information you enter and for keeping your own backups of critical records.

5. Acceptable use

You must not misuse the Service, including: breaching any law; uploading malicious code; attempting to gain unauthorised access; interfering with other users or our infrastructure; or using the Service to store or transmit unlawful content. We may suspend accounts that breach these Terms.

6. Not professional advice

Accountants.Contact is a software tool, not an accountant, tax agent or financial adviser. The Service does not provide accounting, taxation, financial, legal or investment advice. Calculations (including GST/BAS and PAYG/payroll figures) are provided to assist you and may require review; you are responsible for the accuracy and lawful lodgement of your returns and for obtaining advice from a registered professional. Electronic lodgement to the ATO (e.g. STP) requires separate registration and is being progressively enabled.

7. Availability

We aim for high availability but do not guarantee the Service will be uninterrupted or error-free. We may perform maintenance, and may modify or discontinue features. We are not liable for downtime outside our reasonable control.

8. Intellectual property

The Service, its software and branding are owned by us or our licensors. These Terms do not transfer any of our intellectual property to you. You may not copy, resell or reverse-engineer the Service except as permitted by law.

9. Disclaimers & liability

To the extent permitted by law, the Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. Nothing in these Terms excludes rights you have under the Australian Consumer Law that cannot lawfully be excluded. Subject to that, our total liability arising from the Service is limited to the fees you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, loss of profits, or loss or corruption of data.

10. Termination

You may stop using the Service and cancel at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if you breach these Terms or for legal/security reasons. On termination your right to use the Service ends; you may export your data for a reasonable period beforehand.

11. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be notified via the Service or by email, and continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.

12. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia, and you submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of its courts.
